Additional Research Information

Archaeological investigation of the Boyd Cemetery took place during 2003. The primary goal of the project was to search for additional unmarked graves located in the vicinity of the single marked tombstone for Mary Boyd. TRC staff members Larry McKee, Aaron Deter-Wolf, Jared Barrett and Ted Karpynec, collectively carried out investigations in the cemetery site. Their study reported the one unmarked grave and another grave near the broken headstone for Mary Boyd (recorded by the Davidson County Cemetery Survey, 12-8-1999). No additional tombstones with inscriptions were located.
