PETWAY CEMETERY (REMOVED)

 

NO-06: NASHVILLE, DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. (REMOVED)

 

Original Location. According to Willoughby Williams’ account of the early the roads of Davidson County, Dr. William Dickson, later a Senator, lived on property located on present-day Nolensville Pike, almost to Nolensville. Later this was the property of Hinchey Petway. The will of Hinchey Petway was recorded in Davidson County in 1857.

 

Cemetery Removed. According to records of Mt. Olivet Cemetery, removals "from Petway burial ground on Combs Buell property took place on April 22, 1926." The names of those re-interred at Mt. Olivet from the cemetery records:
