Jan Cain, with other Cemetery Survey Volunteers, re-visited the Robert Davis Cemetery on April 14, 2009. They found the cemetery in good condition. The grass was mowed and there was no overgrowth. They did not see any evidence of sunken graves or fieldstones. Jan Cain pointed out that a descendant Edwin S. Davis had written: "According to my calculations, there should be at least three other graves in this plot, that of his wife and two of his children, a boy and a girl, each of whom died young and unmarried. Mrs. Duke also thinks perhaps some slaves were buried there."

Report from Jan Cain, Cemetery Survey Volunteer, who visited and took photographs in the cemetery on November 5, 2011.
"There is only one marker in this small family cemetery. According to a Shumate family member, the Shumates were related to the Davis family. One of the Shumates, who has done considerable research, has written that she believes that Robert's wife and two children are buried here as well as several slaves."
