Additions to Thomas Herrin Cemetery OH-41
On April 2, 2004, Jack Zuccarello sent the Davidson County Cemetery Survey, the obituary for Thomas Herrin Scott, who was buried in the Thomas Herrin Cemetery.
The following information was taken from his obituary:
“…The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at his residence nine miles from Nashville. The interment will be in the old Herrin family graveyard which adjoins the farm on which the deceased lived. Probably no deputy sheriff in Davidson County has served his county in that capacity as long as did Thomas Herrin Scott, or as he is known to all, plain ‘Tom’ Scott. The deceased was the son of a prominent farmer living near Little Harpeth at the county line between Williamson and Davidson, and he was in his 46th year. His mother was the daughter of Johnson Vaughan … Both his parents died when he was quite young and for a number of years he lived with his aunt, Mrs. Bettie Herrin, who was a Vaughan…”
