AN-105: NASHVILLE, DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. Old Hickory Blvd.
Three cemeteries have been identified in a new subdivision on Old Hickory Blvd. according to Nick Fielder, State Archaeologist, one Briley cemetery was removed in 2002, prior to development. This cemetery may be found on the web site in the index listed as Briley Cemetery (Removed). The inscriptions in a second cemetery in the subdivision were recorded by Davidson County Cemetery Survey Volunteers in July 2004 and may be seen on the web site at John G. Briley Cemetery. The third cemetery (Unnamed Cemetery) was located by volunteers during their summer visit to the site but was overgrown and could not be recorded at that time. According to information given to the Cemetery Survey Volunteer, the area of the cemetery is to be designated as “Open Space” by the developer.
After this cemetery is cleared of growth, Cemetery Survey Volunteers will return and record the tombstone inscriptions.
