Whitworth Cemetery

LA-02: NASHVILLE, DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN, MURFREESBORO PIKE

ON DAY OF SURVEY SITE VISIT, 3-8-2000, CEMETERY WAS ENCLOSED IN AN IRON FENCE. NO TOMBSTONES WERE VISIBLE. THIS CEMETERY IS IDENTIFIED ON METRO PLANNING COMMISSION’S MAP/PARCEL AS “WHITWORTH CEMETERY”.

Additions to Whitworth Cemetery   LA-02 
On July 9, 2004, Dan Allen submitted to the Davidson County Cemetery Survey, the names of the two people buried in the Whitworth Cemetery.

Additions to Whitworth Cemetery (Removed)  LA-02

Under court order of the Chancery Court for Davidson County, the remains from two graves located in the Whitworth Cemetery were disinterred on April 6, 2005, and reburied in Mt. Juliet Cemetery, Garden of Peace,  Lot 2  Section A  Space # 4.   On January 11, 2008,  a representative of the Edmondson Chapel, purchaser of the property at 4040 Murfreesboro Pike,  notified the Davidson County Cemetery Survey project that these removals had taken place.  This cemetery is now officially closed.
