SURVEY REPORT.  OCTOBER 30, 2004

Report from Mike Simmons. October 25, 2011, to Davidson County Cemetery Survey project.
"Annie Perry submitted the list of burials and gave the name for the cemetery as Thomas E. Williams Cemetery.  Annie Perry was a Williams descendant.  The Williams were in-laws of John and Sara Gresham, who were my great great grandparents.  Their son was Eugene C. Gresham who married Alice Gotto, daughter of Antonio M. and Mary (Montgomery) Gotto.  Eugene and Alice Gresham's daughter Gladys Louise Gresham married my grandfather Aubrey Lee Simmons.  Please, record this family history in the Cemetery Survey."

Research (by Fletch Coke) of Death Certificates helped to identify the original name of the cemetery.
Sarah Tennessee Ormes Gresham, with death date of May 1921, was the earliest family member buried in the cemetery on the list presented by Annie Perry.  Certificate of Death, State of Tennessee, listed her death as May 10, 1922, with burial on May 11, 1922 in the "Family Burial Grounds."
Thomas Elzie Williams, Sr., with death date of October 21, 1951, was the last person to be buried in the cemetery on the list presented by Annie Perry.  Certificate of Death, State of Tennessee, listed his death as October 12,1951, with burial on October 14, 1951, in the "Gresham Cemetery" on "McCrory Creek Road."

Name of the Cemetery revised to Thomas E. Williams-Gresham Cemetery.
